Natural History Workshop

In the middle of the exhibition Wild Wonderful World, you’ll find the Natural History Workshop, where you can get up close to fascinating objects from nature. Together with the museum hosts, you can examine skulls and taxidermy animals, assemble a skeleton, and study insects or minerals under a microscope.

The workshop programme changes regularly, so drop by and see what exciting activities are on offer. You might get the chance to learn more about turtles, predators, horseshoe crabs or feathers – or help open an expedition box or examine animal furs.

For younger children, we offer a fun tail quiz, and the whole family can enjoy time together at the drawing table or with a book about our amazing natural world.

With a map in hand, you can explore the exhibition with a focus on topics such as expeditions, sea creatures, the wonders of evolution, or lost nature. Pick up your map in the workshop.
