Winter Holiday at the Museum

Fill the winter holiday with fun and fascinating experiences for the whole family, as we invite you into a world of extinct and prehistoric animals in the exhibition Wild Wonderful World.

The museum is home to many extinct animals — both species that lived millions of years ago and species that have disappeared more recently. During the winter holiday, you can go on a treasure hunt through the exhibition, take part in quizzes, and learn more about animals of the past such as dinosaurs, mosasaurs, sabre-toothed cats, cave bears, dodos, the Tasmanian tiger, and prehistoric humans.

You can explore the exhibitions at your own pace, join the day’s activities, and meet the museum’s educators and scientific experts, who share their knowledge and present special objects from the collections.

Experts in prehistoric animals present real fossils from the museum’s scientific collections.

Meet the Teddy Bear Zoologists
Bring your favourite soft toy on Tuesday 10 February, 10.00–16.00, and meet the museum’s Teddy Bear Zoologists. They will identify your plush friend as a species and give it an official museum tag.
