Fossil hunt – search for the treasures of the past
Outdoorhimmerland.dk with Birgitte Wilsted Simonsen
Try your luck as a fossil hunter at Skillingbro Limestone Quarry. You can find fossils just by digging or scraping a little in the surface of the fracture surface itself or in the large pile of limestone in front of the slope. We will examine the hidden treasures of the past, we will hammer, tap, polish and study our finds - maybe we can even find something from a shark. Take your (grand)parents by the hand and come out and look for fossils from before your grandfather was born... well, actually from the time the limestone was formed in the sea.
Date and time: 21 september 10 – 11.30 AM
Meeting point: The big parking lot by Rold Storkro, Vælderskoven 13, 9520 Skørping.
Target audience: Mostly for children, but everyone is very welcome
OBS: Bring practical clothing and footwear, as the quarry can be a bit slippery. A change of clothes for the car home, a packed lunch and something to drink can also be a good idea.
Feel free to bring equipment such as: Hammer, chisel/large nail, safety glasses and a bucket/bag to hold the day's find..
Pris: 75 kr. pr participent by MobilePay 471400. Note the event date+time and your phone no. in your payment text. Additional purchase of a badge for a scouts uniform is 25 kr.
