Wild Wonderful World
In the museum's new exhibition, you can get up close to the wealth of objects, stories, and research findings hidden in the museum's treasure troves.
Hear amazing stories about incredible discoveries collected on expeditions to inaccessible rainforests, the highest mountains, the deepest sea, outer space, and our own backyard.
What to experience
From impressive prehistoric animals excavated by a renowned Danish scientist on an expedition to a meteorite from outer space picked up by a little girl in Glostrup, Denmark, each of the many objects in the exhibition has a story and historical context behind it.
Explore whale skeletons, unique pieces of amber with previously unknown insect species, Greenlandic fossils, and the museum's collection of Danish medicinal plants, which have never before been displayed to the public.
You can also experience famous items such as remains of the world's very last great auk, Darwin's gift, Bøje Benzon's African animal collection, and the original copper plates from Flora Danica.
Follow in the footsteps of researchers
In the exhibition's workshop, children and adults can handle stuffed animals, bones, shells, and rocks. Examine objects under a microscope, ask questions to the museum's hosts, and discover how you can help researchers map the natural world.

Art in the exhibition
The museum is one of the oldest in the world, with roots tracing back to Ole Worm's collection from the early 1600s. In the exhibition, you can experience artist Rosamond Purcell's installation, which is a spatial recreation of Worm's 'Museum Wormianum'.
