This winter holiday, get ready to explore the exhibition Wild Wonderful World and hear thrilling stories of discoveries and adventurous field trips from around the globe.
Many of the museum’s treasures have been collected by scientists, local experts, and daring explorers over the centuries. Now, you can follow in their footsteps and explore the world – right here at the museum!
Winter holiday highlights:
- Help uncover secrets and remarkable finds hidden inside our expedition crates in the Natural History Workshop. What might you find inside?
- Hear the tales of legendary expeditions. Travel back in time with the stories of Galathea, The Arabian Journey, and The Thule Expeditions. Journey to the deep sea, the Gobi Desert, the Arctic, and South America.
- See fossils & become a fossil hunter. Learn how to find fossils and make your own exciting discoveries in nature.
- Explore the exhibitions. Discover the Wild Wonderful World and Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibitions. You might even meet museum hosts who will showcase fascinating objects and answer your questions!
- Be an archaeologist for a day. Dig into our archaeological sandbox and uncover real dinosaur bones and prehistoric shark teeth!
- Meet the teddy zoologists! Bring your favorite stuffed animal on Monday, 10 February, and Wednesday, 12 February, from 10:00 to 15:00, and meet the museum’s teddy zoologists. They will classify your plush friend and give it an official museum tag.
- Danekræ – discover Denmark’s fossil treasure trove. On Friday, 14 February, from 10:00 to 16:00, get close to some of Denmark’s most stunning and significant fossils, collected by passionate fossil hunters across the country. Come and hear their fascinating stories of prehistoric life.
