World-famous photography exhibition

The annually recurring competition, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, is the world's largest of its kind, attracting the most talented amateurs and professionals from around the globe. From 22 November 2024, you can experience the year's 100 best photos of nature and wildlife selected in 2024 in a thought-provoking special exhibition at the Natural History Museum Denmark.

Explore some of the world’s greatest habitats, see fascinating animal behaviour and get to know extraordinary species in an exhibition that excites millions of people each year. With gravity, wonder and humor, the world's most talented photographers portray the beauty and fragility of nature. Go deeper and discover the surprising – and often challenging – stories behind the images during a time of environmental crisis.

In the exhibition you can regularly meet the museum's hosts, who are ready to tell you more about the species in the exhibits. They also carry real objects from the museum's collections, so you can get up close to skulls, fur and stuffed animals.

School activity: Explore this year's nature photos

School classes can now get up close and personal with the world's best nature photography in the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' exhibition. During the activity, students observe, describe, analyse and tell their own stories about nature through the pictures.

The winners will be revealed at an award show, broadcast live from the iconic Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum in London on the evening of Tuesday, 8 October 2024. As tradition has it, you can follow the event live via our website or on social media.
