New Head of Research at the Natural History Museum Denmark
Anders P. Tøttrup has been appointed as the new Deputy Museum Director of Research and will lead the strategic development of the museum’s research program in the coming years.
Associate Professor, Ph.D., Anders P. Tøttrup currently serves as Head of Section for Science and Society, which focuses on building a robust citizen science program. The section is also responsible for developing portals for reporting species findings and observations in nature. Additionally, Anders P. Tøttrup previously held the position of head of the museum’s university courses for seven years, bringing extensive experience as a researcher, leader, and collaborator with scientists at the museum, the University of Copenhagen, external partners, and the public.
- Anders knows the museum, the University of Copenhagen, and other research environments. He brings significant experience, enthusiasm, and the ability to see opportunities and unite people in collaborative projects across fields and institutions. This makes him the perfect leader for the strategic development of the museum’s research area, and I look forward to working with him on the management team, says Nina Rønsted, Museum Director of Natural History Museum Denmark.
- The museum is in an exciting phase of development as we approach the opening of the new museum. I look forward to contributing to the advancement of our research areas through close collaboration with the museum's researchers and partners. We have so much to offer, and it all needs to be put into play together with the Danish public for the sake of nature and biodiversity, says Anders P. Tøttrup, who will continue as Head of Section for Science and Society alongside his new role as Head of Research.
